About Waihi Beach

Situated on the East Coast of New Zealand, south of Whangamata.  An absolute gem at the very most northern end of the Bay of Plenty.

We can no longer lay claim to "The Best Kept Secret In New Zealand." We are going ahead rapidly, especially since we are one of the last Bay of Plenty beaches with room to grow!! And with our new sewerage scheme underway, things are starting to happen.

"What do we offer?"

With nearly 10 kilometres of open surf beach on one side and the huge Tauranga Harbour on the other, we are a watersport haven.

We have nearly every sporting activity available right here on our doorstep, a small but comprehensive Shopping Centre that caters well for all your holiday needs, Medical Centre, Motels, Hotel, Childcare, Primary School, restaurants and a choice of dining venues. Beautiful native bush walks and our own Orokawa Scenic Reserve complete with glow worms, waterfall and second but uninhabited surf beach - access to it by foot or boat only.

Plus our very sheltered Anzac Bay, both pretty and popular for those not wanting to venture into the waves.  A permanent population of approx 3,000.  Currently our summer influx is approx 25,000.

Our primary appeal however is that we are easily commutable from Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga and Rotorua. We have NO traffic lights, not even any nightclubs!! But, we do have regular entertainment at several venues. AND we have a reputation as one of the safest ocean beaches in New Zealand. We are truly a rest & recreation destination. Something definitely growing in demand.

Whether you're wanting a beach holiday retreat or a permanent beachside investment - Please explore our site to view some of the properties we have listed for sale in the increasingly popular beach resort of Waihi Beach.
