5
Steps
to Owning a Berth
1.
View Berth and
Berth Licence and seek legal advice if you wish (recommended).
2.
Sign Sale Agreement so we can negotiate and agree terms and
price with the Owner. On
agreeing terms you pay a deposit (normally 10%).
3.
Fill out the Application for Consent of the Marina Society to
the Transfer of the Marina Berth (we provide this to you), sign this and
give to Owner in duplicate.
4.
On Settlement Day, pay the balance of the purchase price to
the Owner and any apportionment of the Marina Society’s annual fee.
The
Owner gives you:
-
Signed
Application for Consent
-
Licence
-
Cheque for
$900 being the Marina Society administration fee
5.
Give these to the Marina Society so they can make sure you are
a suitable person to hold a marina berth and your boat is suitable for
the berth. They make you a
member of the Society (fee is $50) and record the transfer of the
Licence to you.
Note:
Insurance is required before a boat is able to use the marina
berth.
